Sydney’s love affair with luxury coastal homes is as passionate as ever, with more than $19M of high-end apartments sales recorded at Sutherland Shire’s Woolooware Bay Town Centre in recent months.
Ian Bennett from Colliers International says the appetite for penthouses remains strong, with many downsizers looking for a home that is beautifully appointed and surrounded by lifestyle features.
“There’s a lot of activity in the higher price range as people look to downsize into something that is both luxurious and convenient,” he says.
Mr Bennett says Woolooware Bay continues to deliver great value for high-end buyers, with a selection of both complete and off-the-plan options on offer.
“Stage 3 is fast coming to completion, and we have been fielding a lot of sustained interest from buyers looking for something that can give them a great quality of life at a very reasonable price,” he says.
In Stage 3’s Crest building, Interior Designer Sue Axlund from Axlund & Goldstein has completed a ‘European-inspired’ collaboration with Pure Interiors and multi-award winning architects Turner to take the penthouse to the next level.
“Our entire design philosophy at Woolooware Bay has always been to celebrate our coastal location, and now, through Pure Interiors we’ve added some extra sophistication in the fixtures and finishes,” she says.
With a $3.25M price tag, the penthouse features 320sqm of luxury living space, including a private 112sqm rooftop entertaining terrace with sweeping bay views that extend to the city skyline.
The stunning terrace is fully equipped with an integrated BBQ area and heated spa, while entertaining indoors is a five-star experience thanks to a sophisticated Italian kitchen.
Kitchen features include sleek stone benchtops, top-of-the-line joinery and Miele & Liebherr appliances – including an all-in-one Zip kitchen mixer tap, self-cleaning oven, European cook top, fully integrated dishwasher and built-in steamer and microwave – complemented by a stylish butler’s pantry fitted with natural stone benchtop and splashback, integrated dishwasher, glass door bar cabinet with LED lighting and storage.
The separate stone tiled laundry is fitted with sink mixer tapware, as well as a Miele clothes dryer and washing machine.
The exclusive floorplan encompasses two-bathrooms, plus powder room, all of which include state-of-the-art mirror doors boasting LED strip lighting, frameless glass shower screens and porcelain stone vanities. The ensuite attached to the master bedroom also serves multipurpose as a steam room.
Northern facing sliding glass doors flood the 68sqm open plan living and dining area with light, while two balconies run the 7.5 metre width of the apartment’s terrace.
Smart home features have also given the penthouse even more wow factor, with lights controlled via touch, app or voice, from anywhere, anytime.
Engineered timber flooring and quality woollen carpet in the bedrooms add a luxurious touch, while the inclusion of a multipurpose study offers the perfect work from home headquarters.
Convenience is also a key consideration, with direct lift access from the garage, which includes two car parks and 18sqm of storage, right up to the penthouse on level 13.
Highland Property Group’s Luke Barbuto says the Stage 3 Crest Penthouse showcases the great design work of architects Turner, particularly in how the apartment responds to its waterfront location.
“The location delivers on sensational views to the east, north and west and the design really capitalises on that. It’s a sun-filled home, which is what living by the water is all about, but it also delivers style and sophistication in spades.”
“Recent penthouse apartment sales by our group in nearby Cronulla this month of $10.25M and $6.8M make the Crest penthouse in Woolooware Bay a very affordable and enticing offering,” he says.
The penthouse also has direct access to an indulgent, residents-only rooftop recreational area – the Crest Club, which includes an infinity pool, private cabanas and a club room serviced by a full kitchen.
Other resort-style facilities at Woolooware Bay include a rooftop cinema, spa, sauna and gym as well as an indoor and outdoor pool in Stages 1 and 2.
Once complete, Woolooware Bay will include 898 luxury apartments across four stages, as well as a brand new 18,000sqm shopping centre, a 71-key serviced apartments, and a new club for the Cronulla Sharks.
