Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks Rugby League Club
The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks Rugby League Club was founded in 1963 and admitted to the New South Wales Rugby League premiership, predecessor of the Australian Rugby League and the current National Rugby League competition, in January 1967. The Sharks are an icon of the Sutherland Shire and an important part of its social and cultural fabric. Working closely with local endeavours is an essential part of the Sharks Support community initiative and the club actively supports programs which benefit Shire residents. Program partnerships cover a number of areas including charities like the McGrath Foundation, education, culture, Junior League, events and healthy living.
